Hello and welcome to the forum.
The shoulder titles could be RE above SIGNAL SERVICE or T above SIGNAL SERVICE. It may have RE above the T.
I am sure others may have another style of title to add.

Hello,

Your grandfather 502082 Sapper Samuel Arthur MARKLEW joined the RE(TF) on 25.4.1913 and as I believe he lived at or near to Acocks Green was probably part of the Southern Signal Company and would have worn the one piece, 3-tier gilding metal shoulder title of T/RE/WARWICKSHIRE.

He was discharged from the army on 13.5.1919 due to sickness.

regards

Interesting to see in the first pic he wears a RE badge with EviiR cypher having joined in 1913. From looking at it I get the impression perhaps it’s WM from the colour versus the buttons and also the feeling the scroll is longer. I wonder if perhaps it’s a RE Volunteers badge despite the date?

It would be interesting to get a deeper scan if possible of the cap badge.
