G'day Phil, yes it's a bit of a mystery this one. I have consulted my guru Chris Walker, he has put forward a thinking that it may be a Royal Corps of Signals Officer's badge of someone attached to the Indian Signals, but he is unsure of that.
There is also a brass version of this badge and I have a photo of it, but no description with it.
