onwards and upward

any ideas on these please, I doubt military connections.........looks like a kind of mailed fist in centre of second.

Something to do with the Salvation Army, perhaps? The celestial crown on the first badge is similar to the one on their current emblem, and the monogram forming the second badge is their initials, SA.
