1st VB Leicestershire Forage Cap badge
Hi all,
Latest addition to my Leicestershire Regiment collection. A white metal 1st Volunteer Battalion forage cap badge worn 1895-1902 and described and illustrated in Westlake 545. Lugged east - west and measures 25x23mm. Westlake desribes the curious choice of heraldric emblem rather than Tiger and same symbol adopted on HP and collars with unbroken wreath as per those in my album. There are, however, 1st VB cap badges with 1st VB scroll under the Tiger which I presume is the 1902-1908 period badge. Cheers Dean. Last edited by mooke07; 15-02-12 at 11:12 AM. |

I do indeed, but the one above is available in my swaps album should someone have a Leicestershire Yeomanry item to swap (shameless plug)

Dean/Griff,
Nice badges and something missing from my small Leicesters collection, but I do have a consolation although I haven't seen one with the 1VB beneath the tiger. Still envious though! Griff |
