Guards Brigade Field Hospital
Once again my thoughts on this badge:-
The staff of this Boer War Hospital were probably not recruited from any of the Guards Regts, so Guards quality badges were not required. The badges worn by the Hospital Staff were locally made due to the distance to badge makers in Britain, many of the shoulder titles and slouch hat badges worn during this conflict were made from sheet brass with variations as expected. As for the blades, I am not sure what headdress was worn . . ! Rob |
