The Task Force 9 patches were only authorized for the duration of the deployment. When the Canadian units returned to Canada they were required to take them down.

I recently picked up this C Arrow marked holster, note the officer in the picture is wearing American webbing with what appears to be a 1911 with a pistol belt.

And for some odd reason, as yet not explained, some if not all elements were issued black berets. The Canadian Fusiliers wore both the black beret and the Kiska patches back to Canada. They were repeatedly ordered to take the patches down.

Kiska Artefacts
These items are part of a large collection of inert ordnance and other material that was brought back from Kiska by a member of the RCASC who wintered on the island.
