Civilian? They don't look Belgian, which is usually associated with rampant lions.

the first one appears to be sports related maybe volleyball ?

(or awarded to Maradonna )

the other one looks like a brooch.

Albert.

I'm almost certain that the Honourable East India Company used to have a rampant lion with/holding a globe, as (part of?) their emblem. Happy to be corrected though, of course.

Like Kevin, the second one is ringing bells with me too. It could perhaps be a Scottish, civilian, kilt pin or brooch?

The lion is very very similar to the one used in Scotland :

I'll be very interested in the outcome of this thread.
The lion & globe insignia is very common to many "organisations", including a style worn by the Cunard Line.

The first badge shown has a very Belgian look to it, the style of helmet is very similar to many Belgian badges.

I've been googling and found the following image of a Belgian coin. The style of lion (outward facing, split tail) and shield are a very close match:

Agreed. It is becoming apparent that this was/is a pretty well-used device .

Rampant lions do not vary terribly! Again, I would back the scottish lion on this one, Belgian lions usually have both feet at the same level. I have not seen any Belgian (or colonial) badge that resembles this lion or the helmet at the top.

It has to be said, the 'sphere' on the first badge DOES look very much like a basketball:

I guess that I'm confusing the style of helmet to that of the Belgian Heavy Tank Coy. & 4th Lancers.
