Just from the photograph I would say it is of recent manufacture and completely spurious.

I don't know. The photo isn't the best and the angle is odd, it may be a good badge.

It’s a total fake. RNAS caps like this have appeared in several provincial auction houses, along with the usual multiple SAS badges and berets, rare SS badges and fake helmets.

They are complete tat

Default RNAS hatbadge

The badge in question is a Royal Naval Air Service officers cap badge WW1 period and as others have mentioned, it is a much faked badge although your image is not good enough to determine its authenticity. It appears to be attached to its cap band. Could you show a better image of both front and reverse of the badge in order to decide if I indeed it is an original badge.

Sorry to repeat myself, but a more obvious crappy fake has never existed.

See here:-

https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/a...b-acf8012d70c0

Several identical FAKE caps and badges have appeared in UK auctions over the last year or so.

This is not an attic find, its a criminally manufactured 100% pile of crap intended to scam money off people who dont know better.

regards

The design, manufacture and materials used all make it quite clear that the badge cannot be original.
