Good to see the various patterns of this badge. I have several of those shown and I may have another pattern, measures 48mm high X 45mm wide approx. See attached picture.

That type is the what i refer to as type6, I haven't posted any of mine yet and it is my least favourite of the group (I prefer the type 2's!). I have at least 9 varieties of these and then stopped buying them as the minor die varieties seem to go on and on. They (whichever makers' used this die) must have made these for a long time.

All seem to have a fairly consistent leaf shape but the size, shape and placement of the crown and 'Canada' scroll can vary widely. (as well as the detail on the leaf itself, from nearly smooth to richly pebbled)

One type 6 I have which I have not seen another of is brass, fully struck and has a voided crown...

Here is a collar that is hard to classify properly as it seems to have no corresponding design in a cap badge, or none that I have seen to date despite having several examples of this collar. rounded bottom puts it closer to a "type 6" cap than anything else

Thanks for the clarification of the Type 6. I have not yet tried to classify my others but will work on it. Thanks for the information and pictures provided.

Both pin back. The one on the left is "collar" size, the right is half that. Perhaps the small one is a men's lapel pin? I have a bracelet made of a chain of really small GL design badges (brass only, no enamel) that are each only about 3/16" high (I'll try and photograph it tomorrow)

The worst design in my opinion is the type 5(uglies). Sharp pointed leaf with large, chunky "Canada" scroll and in some varieties a cartoonishly pronounced high relief. The most unelegant looking of the series.

These eyesores come with matching collars too, but who cares.

I hope this fits in this thread. Heres a badge that started out as a Birks 1915 marked general list cap badge with lugs and ended up as a pin back 157th interum badge.

I started collecting General List badges by accident and now I have a bit of a collection. Here are some of the varieties in which I have.

L.C.C.116.... There are alot of us that are surprised to find out that along the way we've accumulated a variety of badges... and that when you organize them you have a pretty good collection badge specific, like you've found out with these... nice collection of them by the way

Although one of Bill's "uglies" I rather like this badge as I have a soft spot for officer's CEF badges. It is a two piece silver overlay on gilted brass. An unexpected find at a recent show down here.

Well, despite it being of the "ugly" variety, I think it it's actually quite an attractive badge. I've not seen one like that before.

Is it a true multi-piece badge? From the photo you can't really tell, it "appears" like a gilt badge with silver plating o the crown/scroll. may we see the back of the badge? Either way, a nice find!

As per my earlier post, here is the bracelet (one of two I have) made up of very tiny General list badges. All approx 3/16" high. Appears to be all brass construction, no hint of any gilt work. NOT the prettiest piece of jewelry... but unusual...

In comparison, the GL lapel pin also shown is about 1/4 - 5/16" high and a standard enamelled collar/sweetheart.

I'll try to get a reverse photo up this week but there are no sweat holes or wires holding the overlay onto the badge that are visible from the reverse. It is definately two piece and not unlike some other two piece officer CEF badges that I have without a visible means of attachment for the overlay.
