I'm going to stick my neck out here and suggest that this was likely the first badge, after the creation of the unit in 1984 [by amalgamation]. A second badge, with the same heraldic elements, roughly, shown below and the current one, which to my eye is quite attractive. [https://www.canadiansoldiers.com/cor...eerbranch.htm]

Surely a typo, Peter? This RCEME badge design dates from 1944, but most I've come across are more bronze looking and considerably more refined.

Yes, but not mine. Not much excuse, I know, especially as I looked at it and thought 'That late?' but didn't check another source.
