8 Beach Group
Film discovered today on a Youtube search - "Waterproofing Vehicles England 06 03 1944" - includes excellent images of (probably) 8 Beach Group (5 R Berks) (Beach Groups sign superimposed on the 3 Can Inf Div patch) and other troops. Also a shot of a very unusual Landing Craft Gun underway. American style this might be dated (in UK speak) 3 Jun 44. This link might work as an alternative to a search:

Waterproofing vehicles
I have somewhere in my archives a typed sheet with instructions for waterproofing vehicles for Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily.

Not sure if this is the report you have Rob - but makes for interesting reading.

In a word fascinating. Also that 'squaddie' thing of trying to stay drive then saying 'sod it' and getting totally wet then trying to get ones kit dry in a tin shack with a pot boiler stove. Also that nstanding around with all your kit waiting to load. Do you take it iff and risk having to move suddenly or do you leave it on and adopt the 'trying to make myself comfortable' pose
