Default Norwegian silver badge

Guys, i have silver Norwegian beret badge made in 1942 that looks like it once had a gold finish on it. Could this be possible? I have put another badge next to it for comparison.

Hi,
Nice badges,
I have never seen a silver badge (H7) with a gold cover.
I think one have aged and one looked cleaned.

How ever really nice badges.

Perhaps it is varnished or otherwise coated to prevent it from blackening.

I think Luc may be right - I vaguely recall an awful trend to 'lacquer' some badges, supposedly to stop having to clean them.

I'm not familiar with H7 badges in brass, are you sure you don't mean whitemetal?
