Default Military Mounted Police / Military Foot Police

Could anyone tell me what cap badges were worn by other ranks in the Military Mounted Police and Military Foot Police during WWI. Any pictures of the badges would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

As far as I know they wore the shoulder title as a cap badge and the MFP them wore the 3rd badge shown. Not sure if the MMP had a change of badge.
I stand to be corrected on this.

They wore the standard CMP badge.

The MFP badge has been discussed before on the forum and it was not on general issue in WW1.

The S/T was used prior to the EVII Corps of Military Police.

There is an excellent and informative thread on this matter by an assistant curator at the RMP museum, here: http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/fo...ap-badge-myth/

Toby that's brilliant. I'm not great at spotting fakes other than the most obvious. But I've been suspicious of the bi metal MFP since my younger days. Even though as you say they appear in reference books and in MP collectors collections.
I did read an article in a Military Historical Society bulletin from the 1950's or 60's that was categorical about the bi metal badge being a fake.........but then went on to say the original was only ever made in gilding metal!

Regards
Sean

A nice image of MMP in Italy, WWI (the Cameronian's mentioned but not the Border Regiment man):
