Hampshire "ORs" Pattern Officers

I had considered my Northants a possible officer badge, but for what form of dress? Could never decide whether it is that or a fancy OR.

PS, just came to mind that this badge is indeed an officer worn on the blue patrol dress visored cap.

"It was worn by officers from 1898 to 1902 only and is a rare thing. Silver and Gilt of riveted construction as your example is."

Yes, I have a similar one, also with the bent-over pins to secure the scroll, but with a JR Gaunt London maker mark.
