Popski's Private Army Book
This copy (2nd I have owned -the first was falling apart) this not what I could call the best of condition either! Though I've had for some time it wasn't till recently that noticed on inside cover was this inscription, you tend to skip this page! Anyhow, was there a John Campbell in "S - Patrol" what appears to be :- Military Cross and Bar?
The signature I think looks like John Glynn, in an old age hand, look forward to your thoughts, all the best billy |

Billy,
I think the signature may well be John Campbell’s Paul |

Only what I’ve read Billy
I’m sure he was an ex Argyll and the last surviving officer of the PPA I don’t collect to them because unless you have absolute provenance in one of their items it’s most likely fake Paul |

I met John Campbell several times, a real gentleman, he was always happy to sign books and photos. The signature looks original to me.
Attached John's signature on a document... Keith

Keith,
Great photo. I assume his medals are copies/replacements, having read that his originals were sadly stolen? regards

Sorry I didn't ask about the medals, although they looked new or re-mounted with modern ribbons. I am not sure if the original medal group was stolen, I cannot elaborate but was told a different story.
