Red on Blue Numbers – Commando?
Apologies I can’t seem to find the post anywhere, but somewhere on here in the last 12 months the origin these red on blue numbers was confirmed as some civil defence type organisation and not commando as had been thought before. If anyone can point me to thread I’d appreciate it
Thanks Paul

Having spoken with Paul about this recently, I would be intrigued to see the thread referred to as well. If any member can point us in the right direction of the thread Paul saw previously it would be really helpful.
I have this example of No.2 Cdo cut title in my collection but there are couple of things about it that puzzle me. It did come together, within a collection I bought years ago - but a further insight into the numeral thread Paul refers to would be great Regards Mike |

Hello,
Have not seen the previous thread before but I can say that the red on blue county title and most probably your numerals are not Civil Defence but are British Red Cross Society titles. Worn WW2 and after whereas the earlier titles were metal. rtegards

Very many thanks to all for the guidance - it is always good to learn something new. I clearly need to do some digging to find out why the numeral and Commando title came together. Quite possibly an eroneous marriage.
