Default 8th v. P.O.W. West Yorkshire Reg. blackened cap badge

Hi all,

Happy Friday! Here is my new pick up. Unfortunately I don't have any other or better pictures at the moment of the back but what you guys think about this - does it look ok? Also are these less common, I tried to find an example photo from internet but didn't saw any.

Thanking you in advance!

It's my understanding (and I may well be wrong), that there shouldn't be a void beneath the crown and above the Maltese Cross on this pattern of badge

I believe that the common fake that you see with this void is based on a 1908 TF bought badge. The later ones did not have the void. There is a picture of an original one on the forum - it has wire strengtheners behind it which were not present on the non-voided ones or the fakes.

Buyer beware with this version as 99.9% I have seen are fakes.

Also I assume this one is a fake but just a second opinion would be handy.

I believe these badges should only have a slider as well.

I think that this is the Leeds Rifles cap badge that Alan was referring to.
