So we know two of the three dentists who sailed on the QE2 :

1.Kenneth Alexander Charles WATT.

2. John Flett AITKEN.

Watt was a Lt.Col at the time but Aitken was a Major and did not get the rank of Lt.Col until 14th Jul 1985.

So it is possible that the third dental officer was also of a lower rank at the time but was later promote to Lt.Col ?

Found this post on another forum :

Quote:
In terms of actually on the ground in Op Corporate a number of RADC deployed.

Two as Resuscitation Officers with 1 and 2 FST as part of 22 Fd Hosp. (Ajax Bay), may have been some ORs as well.

And the DO and the DCA with 16 Fd Amb.
So , is that the three dental officers ?

Next point , were any of the phase 2 officers RADC :

Quote:
Phase 2: A second group, comprising 6 officers and 25 soldiers from 2 Field Hospital, was assembled as an ‘Administrative Control Cell and Medical Holding Unit,’ with the aim of caring for the anticipated large numbers of Argentine Prisoners of War.

.........reaching Port Stanley on 19 June. As hostilities had already ceased and repatriations were underway, this unit was dissolved, and personnel were relocated elsewhere, particularly to the KEMH.
or were there any RADC officers in phase 3 :

Quote:
Phase 3: The rear party sailed from Southampton on 19 June and arrived at Port Stanley on 11 July, where they relocated to KEMH. With their arrival, 2 Field Hospital was complete.

EDIT :As the uniform has the South Atlantic ribbon with rosette it could not belong to the later officers.

Quote:
The medal with rosette was awarded for one day's service within 35° and 60° South latitude or for at least one operational sortie south of Ascension Island, between 2 April and 14 June 1982.

Two members of the RAMC were decorated for their actions aboard the Galahad.

RSM Michael (Mac) McHale got an MBE and Sergeant Peter (Pierre) Naya got the MM.

Pierre was an Operating Theatre Technician , a profession I trained and qualified as when I left the army !

Only other thing of interest I've found is that 5th Infantry Brigade lists :

Quote:
16 Field Ambulance RAMC
19 Field Ambulance RAMC
Elements 2 Field Hospital RAMC
But 3rd Commando Brigade lists "Army Units attached to 3 Commando Brigade". :

Quote:
19 Field Ambulance RAMC/RADC
This definitely seems to imply that a Dental Officer was attached to the unit ?
