Default Civil Defence Reserve Despatch Rider Old Gold Badge

I am currently going through a National Archives' file on the badges issued to the Civil Defence Reserve. Although the file mentions samples being sent between departments, most are missing. However, the despatch rider badge sample and correspondence are in the file. It appears a certain Mr. Williamson was none too impressed by the request...

Very interesting, and a shame in a way because it sure would have added some good feeling for the men who did that task plus other tasks required. I see it a as sort of qualification badge, not one that limits ones duty requirements.
