It isn't Non-Permanent Active Militia, the number of infantry units did not go that high. Cheers, Dan. |

MLI Collar
Good day Paul,
This collar is for the Middlesex Light Infantry between the wars, 1920 to 1936. Was raised as the 26th Middlesex Bn. of Inf. 1866. "Light" added to title 1900. Raised the 135th C.E.F. Bn. during WW I (hence '135' on the collar badge, but not the hat badge). In post war, 1920 re-org of the Militia, regiment was designated the Middlesex Light Infantry. During the 1936 re-org of the Militia, the regiment was amalgamated with the Huron Regiment as the Middlesex and Huron Regiment. Ian

Just wanted to add that the Regiment was located in Strathroy, Ontario, a small town just outside of London (Ontario). With the amalgamation in 1936, the new Regiment perpetuated both the 135th and 161st Battalions, CEF. |
