I have a large (25mm) button which has "Volunteers" in brackets on the edge and a medium (17mm) button which doesn't.

It may be that the medium button is an Officers silver plate version whilst the large one is other ranks white metal?

But my question is do you find medium buttons with the "(Volunteers)" and large ones without?

Rob,

As well as other ranks', I have a 17mm officers' button that includes 'Volunteers' in brackets ( a Hobson backmark); let me know if you would like photographs

So does anyone have a large WM EV11R without the (Volunteers)?

Also here is a 15mm cap? button with Royal Engineers in a scroll at the base, was this design only used on cap buttons or do larger versions also exist?
