Default COMMENTS (2) ON DZ FLASHES PLEASE

Which is which?

I have the following in my collection. The first picture I was sure was RHQ Para DZ Flash, I have also seen the second picture displayed as RHQ Para DZ. Could anyone help?

Secondly, when I was at HQ Th Tps I was informed (by someone at 16 AS Bde) that picture 3 was Airborne Forces Liaison Services although I have not come across it again.

Last question is, is picture 4 now used as APJI instead of the APJI wings?

Thanks

Chris

Default Army PJIs

The two DZ flash with three colours are the old DZ flash for Regimental Headquarters of the Parachute Regiment (i.e. nor serving in one of the battalions) just shown in different alignments. The one with four colours is the current version, with the black added to represent 4 PARA (along with the red of 1 PARA, the blue of 2 PARA and the green of 3 PARA).

The one with the black parachute is for the members of the Army (as opposed to RAF) who are fully qualified as Parachute Jump Instructors. The old Army APJI ( Assistant Parachute Jump Instructor) qualification is now obsolete and Army PJIs receive the same half brevet as worn by RAF PJIs.

Why is this thread in the Fakes category when the badges are genuine?

Thanks Colin,

I put them here for two reasons, response and I was not suggesting they were I wanted to know as I was unsure.

It is good to get a response that they are not fake, it is often the other way around.
