Default Brass SAS wings cap badge

Hi,
this is one of many badges that was given to a local fish & chip shop near Devizes as payment for chips many years ago (not sure exactly). The lug is broken off but I believe it's a genuine badge. Any ideas what period it may be?
cheers,
Rick
