Default Forage & SD caps for Major CB Rodger

A pair of caps both from Major C B Rodger, 1st Bn the Queens royal regiment (West Surrey).

The forage cap is in a box dated 1958 the year before the Bn was amalgamated. It is addressed to BFPO24 which was in Germany where the Bn was stationed at that time (57-59).

The SD cap is an earlier example being marked to the late king George VI but has inside it a repair bill which is also dated 1958.

Both caps are maker marked to Herbert Johnson as is the box and the receipt has the royal warrant to the late King whilst the box has the warrant to the Queen.

Both caps have regimental buttons, two piece bi metal on the forage cap and gilded/brass on the SD cap and the forage cap has a gilt badge and the SD cap has a very polished version on lugs.

The officer is mentioned as carrying the 2nd Bn colours for their disbanding parade in Berlin in 1948 when he was a Captain.
