I picked this one up earlier in the week and although my initial thoughts were that someone had been at the spokes, the more I look at it I think it was struck this way? Anyone esle have one with such kinked spokes?

Perhaps the rider had suffered a puncture ?

This is very disappointing, this is a badge Forum please come back with sensible responses and if you cannot then don't bother replying!

My initial thoughts were that someone had been at the spokes and that thought hasn't changed.
I wonder was a special tool made and how many badges were wrecked before this effect was perfected?

The metal seems raised on the inside of the bends (9 o'clock position in particular), I have the impression it is done on purpose.

This badge was struck this way and has NOT been tampered with! Hence the reason for asking the question in the first place! There are no signs WHATSOEVER of any bending of the spokes?

For my money, if you check the back view, the spokes numbered 3, 5, 6 & 7 (counting in the front view as 1 being the spoke at 12 o'clock) have most definitely been tampered with, the marks are very clear! So....I think they all were bent and possibly it was a former owner's attempt at recognizing the badge if it was "nicked"! It's surprising what you can do with a pair of needle nosed pliers and a piece of tape! And if you squeeze too hard.....Ah well!..........Regards, David J.

Andy,
I would suspect a modified tool similar to that used to change the disk in an angle grinder was used in order to move all spokes equally.
Definitely done after manufacture.
It has caused a few smiles and that was probably the reason for it's creation.
