Default US officer rank patch

Would this silver-embridered bar on green be of a US Army 1st Lt of WW2/early Vietnam time range? Where precisely on the uniform would this insignia be worn? Would one or two patches be worn?

Grateful for feedback

If I remeber correctly, these were worn on the right collar point on OG 107 shirt during the early Viet-Nam war. Later the US Army switched to black on green and black on cammo rank bars.
On the left collar point, the officer usually wore his branch insignia, infantry, armor, logistics, medical so on.
