5th Gloucestershire Regiment TA Back Badge
Hello
Would anyone know what the Officers of the 5th Glosters wore as their Back Badge on the No1 Dress (Forage) cap and on the Beret in the 1960's up to 1967. Thanks as always Neil |

I have a forage cap to an ex-CO of 5 Gloster's, 1950's or 60's, the front badge is bullion and I think that the back badge is the bullion sphinx and tablet without wreath.
I'll check. Commissioned in 1945, a captain in 1952, I believe he left the TA in 1965. Images of his Field Officer's forage cap, front badge, button, back badge. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 14-05-20 at 03:17 PM. Reason: Images added. |

I have Wessex Brigade badged Gloster's headgear (so not to the 5th Bn as they have the Brigade badge) -
A forage cap with silver coloured metal front badge and small bullion sphinx and tablet within wreath. An OSD cap with silver coloured metal front badge and small silver coloured sphinx and tablet within wreath back badge with blade fittings. A beret with bullion front badge and small silver coloured metal sphinx and tablet within wreath back badge. These three items came together, the original owner is unknown. I also have a beret with bullion Wessex Brigade front badge and bullion sphinx and tablet (no wreath) back badge. |

Thanks Leigh, I'll start looking through the dealers for one of each.
