SAS Wings Downswet Wings 30 X 70mm.
Yet another pair of SAS Wings that I'd like identified please.
I have vague recollections of upswept or downswet wings being worn by certain Squadrons (downswept by 22nd SAS?) but can't remember the details. Last edited by leigh kitchen; 14-12-18 at 08:37 AM. Reason: Typos. |

23rd SAS. Hard to really say if pukka or not, I have a pair but can't say. They look a bit fluffy.

Thanks, this pair have been worn, possibly accounting for the fluffy look?

Downswept SAS wings
I have a set of these wings with letter of provenence from Charles Guthrie, of the Welsh Guards, who was a 22 SAS squadron commander 1968-70 and was later the CGS. Contrary to popular belief, this style was never confined to just 23 SAS but were issued throughout all three SAS regiments in the late 1960s/early 1970s.
