Default Bullion Dress Para Wings

Dress para wings are always a bit difficult for me to date as opposed to say cloth embroidery. This pair is full size. The backing material to this lightly padded wing has me thinking late war or early post war? The wing has been sewn and removed from a uniform at some point in time.
thanks
Jack

Reminiscent of the attached wing which is attributed to Chindit Doctor Lt Col Desmond Whyte DSO. Another unsung hero of the Far East Campaign.

Mike, very interesting obituary. thanks for your input on the wing, always appreciated.

Yes the wings do share similarities. I had not thought of far east construction but upon looking closer that might be it. Just found the wing over the weekend.

Best
Jack

Okay, many thanks, Jack, rather larger than I had thought when I first looked at the photographs.

Jack, nice set of wings. I've got a similar set that belonged to Lieutenant Peter Collyer who was commissioned into the Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey) and then served with the 8/9 Para in Palestine, then 2 Para. There is an officers mess photo of him in 2 Para dated 19/07/50. I would guess that your wings are late war / early post war. Richie
