Default KC RM Cap badges

Whilst sorting out badges for my display I noticed a difference across some of the KC cap badges I have. Wondered if anyone can shed light onto whether this might indicate copies or merely differing makers/patterns? In the attached picture there are a couple of QC badges at the top as a point of reference to the difference in the KC ones. The area of the difference is in the crown itself and its joining to the globe & laurel wreath. In the KC badges on the middle row, plus the first on bottom row, the crown seems smaller and the joining to the globe is narrower - as is the joining of the points of the laurel wreath to the crown. This makes them similar to the QC ones (possibly suggesting a later pattern?) In the centre & righthand bottom row KC badges the crown seems slightly larger, the join to the globe broader and the points of the leaves less defined - giving the impression of enveloping the crown rather than propping it up - any thoughts? -- Ray
