Cheshire Regiment officer's scarlet tunic
A recent purchase, an officer's scarlet tunic for a Lieutenant in the 1st Battalion Cheshire. The tailor's label dates it to 1910. It belonged to an officer by the name of Gerald Adshead who served with the 1st battalion before becoming the Adjutant of the 5th (Earl of Chester's) battalion on the 17th January 1914. He rose to the rank of Major during the Great War but oddly, seems to only be entitled to the British War Medal.
The tunic will be for sale at some point in the future. |
