Canadian 14th Tank Regiment (Calgary Regiment) Dieppe period
I'm looking for a cap badge for this regiment but I don't know much about Canadian badges.
So is it rare? Has it been faked? And can anyone supply a picture of a good one please? Regards Rob. |

4. Who wore the reversed metals version? Rob. |

Hi Rob, the reversed metals were an error. These are not yet heavily repro'd.

Thanks Bill
They seem a bit thin on the ground in the UK, are they more common in Canada? Rob. |

Hi Rob, They are one of more difficult SWW badges. There aren't a lot of them around anywhere, and if the trend with the 8th Recce is any indication, scarce badges like this are going to jump up in value.

This same seller, who just sold this afternoon the badge without the three overlays made $182.50 for a broken/incomplete badge. Not sure what is going on there?

I have noticed these badges at most dealer sites and tables going for 155.00 or so. Have not moved in price for quite some time. I do expect these to climb in price soon enough.

12 years on, bullet bitten, most expensive cap badge I have ever bought, but I am chuffed with this one.

Hi, just reread this post. Does anyone know why a badge without the overlays would be chromed? It has obviously been dipped as the coating only comes half way up the lugs, thanks in advance best wishes Mike

Badges were frequently chromed for wear with the blue patrol uniform or by bandsmen.
