Random observations.
Apart from both the distance judging star(?) on his right arm sleeve and the marksman crossed rifles(?) on his left arm the amazing thing is that the BW sgt. in your first photo seems te be having both the ribbon and pin on the front of his kilt.

The sgt. in the second photo seems to be wearing the badged glengarry of a bandmember, yet no discernible bandmember badges.

the s/sgt. in the 4th photo wears a non-scottish service dress jacket with his kilt, lacking the rounded off skirt fronts.

Hi

Are you certain of the date of the photo of the Sergeant at Farnborough station? Is it written on the photo perchance as the date of the 18th August does not seem right!
