Default Military Badge

Please see photos of a badge I'm trying to ID. It's a Kings Crown so 1901 to 1953, but having looked in Kipling and King Vol 1 the closest I can find is the top half of a QVC Royal Artillery badge. It is unusual in having long fronds (?) next to the helmet.
Any ideas?
I'll try to attach photos from orig text message next, showing badge.
