Hi, I have a question to use. Would I assume that most of the Scottish Regiments and volunteer battalions wore this type of headgear.

Hello Simon,

Not my area and there may be other Regiments that wore this pattern of dicing but I have a similar cap badged to the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.

Hi Ry, same here. Not too knowledgable on this type of thing. I'm planning in my head how to display the Scots collection one day, and thought about combining all badges with connection to the Scot's etc and see if I could get my hands on one of these to put in with them.

If I see one, then I'll know what I'm looking for. Wouldn't want to display a WW2 one if this was not the pattern seen in WW1.

It may be easier to opt for just mounting the Scots badges onto a backing of their respective Tartan.

These can be found in the albums section IIRC. It'll be a lot cheaper and there's less room for error.
However, that said finding out which caps are suitable for which regiment and period might make an interesting study.
