Some more......

Always keen to hear if anyone can identify any of the initials as I'm pretty useless at crosswords too.

Seeing the vast number of different "unofficial" badges it is easy to understand why the Government had to bring in regulations about the badges and state that only "official" badges would be allowed.

Default Coventry

Interlude

Have seen a rise in the number of "Coventry Ordnance Works" badges appearing on line , some are quite 'dodgy' !

I like the enamelled versions and have noticed a few subtle variations in colour , clouds and even a couple with flames coming from the gun barrel.

Spotted this "Low Moor Munitions Co.Ltd." medal/medallion and wonder if the jeweller/artisan who enamelled the Coventry badges got his inspiration for the clouds from this .....
or if it is simply coincidence ?

Hi Mike

Agreed with your comments re the variety of badges. On the one hand a nightmare for the authorities, but what a wonderful area for us all to take an interest in!

I suspect that the badgemakers must have done very well out of this exercise...

Your comment about the Coventry badges is also one to consider. I recently saw one that looked as if it had been cast or, maybe being charitable, was a detector find as it had a very frosted appearance.

And yes, I've noted a few more enameled versions turning up....
