Default Argyll Lt. Inf.

When talking about legitimate badges, this one is always spoke of as in white metal. I have never seen a white metal ALI tank although there must be according to popular belief it's the only one..(The picture on the forum seems like it could be). Mine is brass & legitimate & here is another that looks good to me.Any comments(not about the one here on auction) Maybe I'll hear from Bill on this one.

A lot (most?, most most??) TANK badges seem to have been plated after the fact rather than made in w.m. Bill Miller has a plated version, maybe he can post some pics.

I suppose it is a creative way of selling a repop, inferring it is a 1953 pattern badge and somehow legitimate. Wishful thinking or not, the Argylls amalgamated with the Hasty Pees in 1954 and are not mentioned at all in Thompson's "Insignia... 1953-1973"

Anyway, always some new twist: link

Not sure what that vendor is up to. Certainly is a "creative" listing.
