Default Rhodesian Motorcycle Troop?

Hi Gents,

I've seen a few reproduction 'Rhodesian Motor Cycle Troop' patches available on Ebay. Can I ask, does anyone know if this is a fantasy patch or was this a real unit/insignia.

If there ever was an original insignia, I would sure like to see an original example, as I may like to put one on my wants list.

Cheers,
Roy

Hi Gents,

Giving this a bump.

Anyone heard of this Rhodesian unit?

Cheers,
Roy

Splendid....

Thanks for that Phil.

So the unit is genuine, now - where can I find some original insignia?

Cheerio,
Roy

I like motorcycle units, have a number of medal groups to them. Do you collect to motorcycle units?

I have one, given to me by a Rhodesian collector a number of years ago. Very scarce I believe.

This may be of use. Example of an original MC patch. They are all unofficial so there are possibly slight variations ie some may not have the op area name on them etc. For interest the red badge is a mystery badge from Rhodesia and is possibly an unofficial Intaf MC type unit.

Thanks Guys,

Very much appreciated. Great to see these patches.

Brian, 'yes' and 'no'. I collect Motor Cycle Despatch Rider patches (see my album) but I'm also interested in any military motorcycle related insignia as an addition. I say a replica of one of these patches and thought (if I could find one) it would be a fun addition.

Cheers,
Roy

Thanks for posting Darrell

Looks like my one with OPS HURRICAN on it, I will have a look when I get home.

Hi Roy

Your collection is mind blowing, congratulations on such a fine collection, never seen so many variations, thanks for posting them in your album.

Thanks Brian,

Very kind words indeed my friend.

Still looking for no less that 'three' Great War variations.

Cheerio,
Roy

This was some time ago, but I thought I would add my two bits.
I was a member of the Rhodesian Motorcycle Troup, based in Victoria Falls. Great unit.
