KRRC with red felt disk
Hi all,
A nice variant KRRC KC cap badge with voided centre but red cloth disk behind that is sewn through the centre of the badge (K&K 674), Lambourne Birbingham marked slider, nice period item, cheers Dean. |

Under what circumstances might a cap badge with prominent stitching of that sort be worn?

Nice to see another example of the Lambourne-marked badge thanks Jerry.
Sorry jf42 I cannot comment with any authority as that the badge I showed was actually worn with the red backing stitched on like that but in this hobby I never say never. Cheers Dean |

Something I have been guilty in the past of muddling, and worth a mention here is that this badge is KK2011, as opposed to KK674. a) KK674 K/C, height: 45mm, with T-E-K honour to lower arm of cross b) KK675 K/C, height: 50mm,with T-E-K honour to lower arm of cross c) KK 2011 K/C, height: 55mm, with Ladysmith honour to lower arm of cross, and worn 1905 to 1950s. The period of issue/wear for KK2011 overlapped with the plastic, economy badge KK2251, which itself was ultimately superseded by the Q/C, plastic, economy KK2012. Regards, JT |
