DODGY SOMERSET LI GAUNT BHAM STAYBRITE
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006663480...9#ht_500wt_951
This is NOT a 1950's SLI a/a cap badge. Some one is going to be very disappointed. |

Would I be right in saying that this is a Birmingham Mint Badge?

It appears to be and someone has added Gaunt Bham to the slider.

The one I have in my Birmingham mint box has the Gaunt slider,I always wondered about why that was the only one I have that is marked in this way?.

Alan, this is how they sometimes came and the MM is not added! The whole collection was made by Gaunts B'Ham, who by then, I think had been bought by B'Ham Mint?

This Somerset LI badge is also being discussed on the Anodised Aluminium pages of this forum.

Here is the one in my Birmingham Mint album clearly marked J. R. GAUNT B'HAM and the only badge in my set of 52 so marked.
Tim Addendum I have just read my notes in my Album and it seems that the Welch Regiment may also appear with a J.R. GAUNT B'HAM slider - although my version has an unmarked slider.

Thanks for the info about this being the only marked one in the set. I have learnt something new.
