Default Not that type of War Paint.

I found this image on 'The Independent' web page. I wasn't aware soldiers were allowed mascara and eye shadow.
I found it bizarre, is it just me?
Tony.

Lads have failed to blend 'make up' in to neck, ears and hands while female has achieved flawless even coverage. Regards, Paul.

I imagine many of us remember the days when the colour of choice was that blackish brown cam cream before the green became available...............coincided with a plethora of Vietnam films being made and young Squaddies daubing their faces in green and black stripes and other designs before a friendly Sergeant would have a word!

I remember having to apply it "properly", not just a few dark blobs on the cheek bones but blended in, on eyelids, in the ears, behind the ears, around the throat and neck.
And in the absence of cam cream you used sheep droppings.
They wouldn't let you smear your face with animal faeces nowadays - health and safety gone mad it is.

That's it Leigh, covered in cam cream with the feeling of sopping wet hessian scrim slapping off the neck from the helmets and the liner covered in sweat, just ready for a ladle of all in stew to be dumped inside when the Instructor decided your mess tin was dirty!..............Happy Days

Simon.
