Hi team, just wanted to see if anyone knew what this badge is. Is it an association badge?

Thanks

It's Canadian, pre 1914 Militia.
What kind of fasteners does it have? How big is it? My first thought is sweetheart badge, but could it be an officers'? Somebody who knows better than me could tell you.

Phil

Thanks Phil; When it arrive's, I'll post better pics of front and back. I got it along with a Lincoln Yeomanry. I took a chance on the group at the last minute on Ebay. I'm guessing 50/50 chance that the Yeomanry is real, but at first I thought this one, as it was enameled it was an association badge. The sweethearts I didn't consider.

I might keep it, and put it in my colonial for now. Not my thing Canadian regiments in general; I was after a Yeomanry sample.

Thanks for the period though, glad it's at least pre 1914.

Regards
Simon.

Phil, I just looked again and it says the badge has two loops at the back. So not a sweet heart.

Simon.

Please don't call it "colonial'.
Depending on the province, the British North America Act made Canada a country as of 1867.
Poms!!

It looks like a collar to me, the Officers badge being gilt and silver.

It might well be. I posted the size comparison against the Lincoln Yeomanry I took the chance on. This Militia one was a bonus with the overall grouping.

Well the item's arrived today, so I thought I'd post some better pics of the Canadian badge. The Yeomanry one pictured above eventually ended up having a Gaunt plaque; not bad for $27.

Looks like you have a Lincoln Regt collar, pre-1914 militia period. Nice badge.

Thanks Bill, I think I'll keep it for now. Maybe shift it on in the future.

Regards

Simon.
