Default You couldn't make it up.........

From the Daily Telegraph 12 May 17, page 5:

Quote of the day:

"We all know that if he [Jeremy Corbin] would have surrendered Gibraltar to the Spanish, and indeed the Falklands to Australia."

Paul Nuttall, the Ukip leader confuses Argentina and Australia as he attacks the Labour leader.

MJ Comment - I'm amazed that the Daily Telegraph felt it had to explain the error to its readership!

Default Typo's

Hang on, Australia and Argentina both begin with "A", as well as both being in the Southern hemisphere, almost exactly correct . . !

For some time I have wondered exactly what qualifications are required to become a politician:

Intelligence or failing that commonsense ?

Experience of paid work in a job in the real world, where you got the job on your own merits ?

A reasonable knowledge of Geography and History ?

Deep felt convictions of what is right ?

Wishing to make a difference to, or improving the lives of ordinary people ?

A desire to commit yourself to public service ?

I am beginning to wonder if all that is required is liking the sound of your own voice.

P.B.

Aussies don't want anything to do with the Falklands. Too Cold!

Well, it was Paul "Pinocchio" Nuttall.

What else would you expect?

The man is supposedly a former history lecturer too.

If that scouse git was the best that Farage could find to lead UKIP..... dressing up in tweed (badly) ..... and putting on a flat cap and wax jacket doth not make thee posh Nuttall.

Peter, all the things you listed are what most politicians lack.
