Question, fasteners? That Argyll Light Infantry officer's cap is a beautiful example of the pre-tank variety. And RARE. Awesome.

Three Rivers Reg't - flat back, SCULLY marked, E-W screw posts, wired overlay.

83 Joliette - semi flat back, JR GAUNT, E-W lugs. Four piece construction, with the numerals wired through maroon velvet to a circular metal backer, which in turn is fastened to the badge body by small tabs. Overlay @ motto ribbon is rivitted.

2/10 Dragoons - flat back, SCULLY marked, four tang fasteners (or benders as our Brit cousins call them), rivitted ovelays.

Argyll Light Infantry - flat back, SCULLY, four benders on this also.

Carleton & York Reg't - flat back, SCULLY marked, E-W screw posts, wired overlay.

Nice badges Doug! The detail and craftsmanship of officer's badges is certainly something that draws me to them. The price of some of them also keeps me away from some of them...

Love that NNS Highlanders badge. I've only seen one other as mint. Here's a pic of the earlier pattern.

Here's my North Nova Scotia Highlanders officers Badge. It was worn by Col. DF Forbes, DSO. ED, CD. The back is flat with lugs and marked JR GAUNT LONDON.

I like that Carleton & York, You won't see that one often, I've only seen one on ebay since I started on ebay about 8-10 years ago. Maybe that's the one,I kept a picture of it anyway. Speaking of pictures I collect pictures (scans) of Canadian officers field service caps (also OR's)and get one now & then from my good friend Dr. Boulton. Ray

YES the EDMONTON badge is the pre 1929 issue quite scarce even in CANADA. is it available for sale or trade ?

Hello Paul, thank you for the reply. I do not sell badges and, in any case, the Edmonton Fusiliers badge is part of a small collection of Irish and Canadian items that were given to me by an elderly Irish lady who had no children of her own and could not, in consequence, pass them on. She gave these heirlooms to me because she knew that I would not sell them.
