Default Perth Regiment Tartan Swatch

Whilst making my little reference guide for tartan badge backings, I have seen 2 different cuts of the Douglas tartan on Perth badges. The one with the light blue lines I've seen on ebay a couple of times and the other with the white lines resembles the Cameronian patch.

Can anyone tell me what one is worn as I have a piece of material and want to cut it to the correct pattern.
It might be that none of them is correct

Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill,

I have the same question as you and found this thread using the Forum 'search'.

Did you ever find out which cut of the Douglas tartan was the correct one as used by the Perth Regiment?

Cheers, Paul.

That was another thread I found in my search, but Bill had posted those guide pictures in April and started this thread himself in May, I wondered if there was still some doubt over which swatch is correct?

Cheers, Paul.

Thanks for that Bill A. Looks like it's the 'Cameronian' type with the white lines after all. I know they are both cut from the same Douglas tartan, but I don't know where the blue line cut version comes from. Like the OP said, there is a chap on Ebay selling them as correct for the Perths.

Thank you again, Paul.

Thanks for that confirmation guys, I'll fix my little leaflet that I made to reflect the Cameronians type.

Regards, Bill
