Hi Bill,

Currently issued by the Canadian Armed Forces, and not rare. The Public Affairs Branch is smaller than other branches, however the cap badge is often seen on eBay for $5 -$10. Cheers,

Walt

This is the government issue cap badge as opposed to the kit shop items.
The Public Affairs occupation is officers only. There are no non-commissioned members in the branch.

I'm not too sure about that anymore, I saw some photo techs, one RCAF and one Army wearing this badge.

Default Public Affairs Branch Badge

The metal variant of this badge is harder to find, since most, if not all, PA officers wear the embroidered badge.

I was able to buy this one recently.

Thanks for the info guys,

I was told, this morning, about the photographers being in the PAB now too by an RCAF Sgt I work with.

Do they all wear the embroidered badge or do the juniors wear the metal badge and officers the embroidered?

Thanks again, Bill

All RCAF NCMs wear embroidered badges, so I would assume that the NCMs are wearing the government issue (mylar embroidered) cap badge. All Public Affairs Officers that I have seen wear the "kit shop" wire embroidered cap badge.

Apologies for resurrecting an ancient thread, but does anyone have any ideas where I can get one of these?

I've 'Googled' and 'Ebayed' for months now, with no luck at all!

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul, Not sure where to steer you in your search. And further, with the re-organization of the armed forces over the last couple of years I am not sure what the status of the branch may be.

Combined. We are still an unified force regardless of what you may have heard. The metal hat badge I've seen worn by NCMs dressed in navy DEU.
