Intriguing! I know the LRDG were on the ground in Albania doing recces for the commando operations at Splije and Sarande

One of their officers Captain C J D Jackson was awarded an MBE which was downgraded from a George Cross for his efforts in attempting to rescue two of his men from a river during a patrol in Albania. He managed to rescue one bit the other sadly drowned. Earlier in the war he had been awarded an MM and MID for his work on patrols in the Western Desert as a Sgt.
