Guess What Badges Used to be on These??
Hello,
Here are a brown leather Pouch Belt and Pouch, both missing their badges, but having left an intriguing imprint. The Crown isnt a QVC, but perhaps a styalised type, or those flat topped types found about 1900 or even a KC. The Pouch Belt has white metal fittings and a Lions Head, 3 chains and whistle adornment. The Pouch badge is 3" tall and the pouch badge 1 3/4" tall both witha distinctive elongated neck on them. I am thinking of two options. 1. Volunteers of a British Infantry Bn, still dressed as Rifles, with brown acroutrements and silver fittings. 2. Indian Army, Gurkhas. I may be completely wrong and any suggestions gratefully received. regards

The pouch belt outline reminds me of the SAS plate, but presumably it's not going to be that on a brown belt.

If you mean this badge, I would say its a pretty good guess. 38th Middlesex RVC.

Yes, that's the one, that "elongated neck" to the crown is quite distinctive, I'm not clued up on such insignia I'm afraid.

Anyone got a photo of the 38th Middlesex RVC (Artists) pouch badge?

About all I know about the pouch badges is that somewhere on the forum there was mention of the top part of the shoulder belt plate being used in later years by SAS as a pouch belt badge.

Thanks Luke and Leigh.
The Pouch Belt Plate and that single pouch badge in the centre of the frame are exact fits for the missing items on the belt. If anyone has the two missing badges you are welcome to buy the belt and pouch. I bought them without realising how clear an imprint the badges had made and was going to put a nice set of Lancs VRC badges on there but would not be right now. regards
