Bedfordshire Regt badges
I have these two Bedford Regt badges in my collection which I can not find in K&K. Can members please tell me what date they are and on what head dress they were worn. One is rich gilt and enamel, the other gilt wash and dark blue leather. Both 6cm across.
Many thanks Denis |

Thank you all for your replies and ref to another very nice one Tony (in fact there were 2 for sale on that site, are they that common!). Pleased to have the dates Hoot as I felt it was too big for the ordinary forage cap so as pre 1902 presume you are referring to the one commonly known as "The stationmasters cap" which seems to have larger badges?

I have these officers badges , but I have the dates as 1881-1919. Do I have it wrong, or is Hoot wright?

K&K hardly scratches the surface - you need the Regtl Museum, National Archives, National Army Museum

I don't know much about the dates but I think this pattern was changed around the turn of the century, somebody else may know exact dates. I've attached my officer badge which I though was c.1900-1919 when it became Beds & Herts. Cheers, Alex |
