Default Lamb with roses

From the reverse I would say this is from some horse furniture, possibly the blinkers, only a guess, as to whether it's to do with the Queens Regt I will let the Queens West Surrey collectors decide.

Sporting these particular type of fittings, perhaps for use on a boss, however, I have not seen a boss badge to any of the three regiments who would have used this little lamb, but that is not to say they don't exist.

However, there is of course the very plausible option put forward by Rob.

In all honesty, in fact I don't know.

Where's Jellyterror when you need him?

Regards.

Brian

West Surreys always have a halo and wouldn't have a rose on the pennant. Its been suggested to me that it may be for ecclesiastical use.

Nice one Phil.

That answer has certainly relegated my suggestions into the "What the **** do I know" selection box.

I should have noticed the lack of halo.

Who needs Jellyterror when Phil's on board?

How 's life with you, all ticketyboo I hope.

Regards.

Thanks for all the input lads, this item has got me intrigued, I have got to get to the bottom of it. Its a stunning little badge, even with its weird fittings, but its not the only badge I have with wires sticking out the back. This is the first one i have posted. The roses have to have some kind of bearing on it, possibly with regards to the area, and the fact that the lamb has the flag draped over its shoulder, even without a halo, has to have some significance. I hope the suggestions keep coming.
Regards, Jim

Cool Lamb with roses

Even the flag has a rose on it, possibly to do with either Yorkshire or Lancashire, probably the coat of arms or a livery insignia.
